Sammamish Mosque

This is media coverage our Ju'muah (Friday) prayer.

Today - people gathered at the Sammamish Mosque in solidarity, after an attack on two places of worship in New Zealand killed at least 49 people.

For members of the mosque - the most important thing they can do after a tragedy like this is keep their doors open.

Sammamish Mosque

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be Upon You)

While the news of the terror attack in New Zealand was unbelievably tragic, there was a wonderful response from our Sammamish community. We had a HUGE turnout for our Ju'muah prayer and a large number of our Sammamish neighbors (organized by Plateaupians for Peace) showed up to stand in solidarity with our community. They were joined by leaders of the City of Sammamish (Councilperson Pamela Stuart, Councilperson Chris Ross and Council Candidate Rituja Indapure), the Sammamish Police Department as well as members of the media. As usual the parking lot was 100% full and, in this exceptional situation, we ended up parking on the grass 4 deep! Several of our guests joined us in the Masjid to listen to the Khutbah (sermon) by Br Alaa Badr. Take a look at the pictures below.

We are holding a special community dinner with our neighbors on Friday March 22 at 5:30pm. Please join us, please bring your family and bring your neighbors.A large number of our Sammamish neighbors showed up to support and to stand in solidarity with our Masjid after the New Zealand terror attack.
