With the mosque being closed due to COVID-19 crisis, SMA leadership has decided to cancel the Eid al-Fitr prayers at the mosque this year. Everyone is encouraged to pray Eid salat with their families at home and at 10am listen to a Khutbah via Zoom (here). Details:
While we cannot make up for the loss of our annual Eid celebration, SMA is planning to have a drive-thru Eid celebration with its community members on Eid day. Kindly follow the social distancing norms to make this a safe as well as successful event for all of us.
SMA Drive-Thru Eid Celebration:
Date : Sunday 24 May, 2020
Time : 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Place: Sammamish Mosque Parking Lot
Volunteers will set up a table in the SMA parking lot and as you drive through you can collect goody bags for the kids and snacks for everyone in the car. Because of Gov Inslee’s guidance, no one will be allowed to park, to step out of the car, or to congregate. We appreciate your understanding and we hope this will provide a safe and enjoyable opportunity to celebrate EID together under these challenging times.
Every Muslim is required to pay Zakat al-Fitr as a token of thankfulness to Allah for having enabled him or her to observe the obligatory fast. Zakat al-Fitr of $10/person is obligatory and should be paid before Eid prayers. Please pay online on SMA website at www.sammamishmosque.com.
